ÖSD exams
ÖSD exams are internationally recognized and range from level A1 to C2. The exams are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels. The exams were adapted in 2019, favouring a format where modules could be taken individually or in combination with one another, with the exception of ÖSD Integration exams.
Deutschlandtara in Indonesia provide ÖSD Exam start only from B1 to B2 level.
ÖSD Zertifikat B1 (ZB1)
The exam consists of four modules: Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking, which can be taken and certified individually or taken in combination with one another.
The exam, known as ÖSD-Zertifikat B1, was jointly developed by the ÖSD, the Center for Language Learning and Research at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and the Goethe-Institute and can be taken at Goethe exam centres (Goethe-Zertifikat B1) and ÖSD exam centres worldwide.
Exam administration
The exam ÖSD Zertifikat B1 consists of four modules (Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking). These modules can be sat and certified individually or taken in combination with one another. Candidates who have taken and passed one or more modules, will receive a single copy of a certificate for each module taken. If all four modules were successfully completed within a year, at the same exam centre, candidates will be entitled to receive a full certificate listing all completed modules.
The exam will be carried out by two ÖSD examiners, who will be assessing the candidate’s exam performance (right) after the exam (see score form). A right to inspect the answer and rating sheet of the exam can be granted upon request.

ÖSD Zertifikat B2 (ZB2)
The exam comprises two modules: the Written exam (Reading, Listening and Writing) and the Oral exam (Speaking), focusing mainly on communicative competence, even though attention is also paid to formal accuracy.

ÖSD Zertifikat B2 / Pflege und medizinische Berufe (ZB2 / PMB)
For the nursing and medical professions, the ÖSD offers a special ZB2 variant worldwide. This examination is designed for adults aged 16 and above who work or intend to work in nursing professions. Similar to the ÖSD ZB2 exam, the Zertifikat B2 / Nursing and Medical Professions consists of two modules: Written exam (reading, listening and writing) and Oral exam (speaking).The test formats are mostly the same as the ÖSD Zertifikat B2 exam, with only a few exceptions. However, the topics and content of the exam are based on typical professional situations in nursing and elderly care, and in hospitals in the German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, South Tyrol).
